This was written pre bereavement, but it’s something that I’m tapping in to so deeply right now as I navigate the shock and grief I’m experiencing…I really hope it helps you with whatever you’re facing in your life right now.

Belonging to Ourselves….
This month in Substack is all about Self Trust and Self Sovereignty.
I’ve found that the more I trust and own my own journey, the stronger, braver, and more empowered I’ve become.
Last month we talked about Power, and owning it more, and I reflected on how I am intentionally building more power on the stage and within my business.
This is similar, but it’s more personal. This is about taking ownership over ourselves and our lives, and building a level of self trust, and self love that carries us through anything that comes our way.

This is the kind of energy I intentionally evoke within myself before I do any form of practise or gentle self reflection. It’s what I tap into when I’m majorly reacting to something, and it’s what I pull on when I’m going through pain and struggles.
The energy of belonging is incredibly empowering. Not only does it move me from self criticism into self compassion, it also moves me in to the energy of self ownership - an energy where I take full responsibility for my life, my reactions, and my choices.
It’s the difference between the word “should” and “you’ve got this”. It’s approaching challenging situations with a sense of self nurture versus self-punishment. And it’s the difference between forcing ourselves to do things that we know help us, and loving self discipline that encourages us.
But it’s not easy, and it takes work….
