I have a lot of events coming up, which means there’s a high chance of burning out, and burnout can cause extreme lows. Extreme lows is something I covered in a previous post (navigating highs and lows), and even though I know I will always experience ups and downs, life is a lot easier when I’m more stable.
I’ve delivered raves during a low before, and even though I still always deliver, and it means the audience gets to experience a much more vulnerable Caroline, it’s not as easy for me.
When I burn out, I want to retreat and hide from the world, so you can imagine how hard it is to deliver a rave that’s all about connection and self love.
And so today, in preparation for these events, I want to commit to my non-negotiables. These are the things I know will make a HUGE difference to me burning out, and not burning out.
When I originally thought about this, I obviously started a big long list of to-do’s including a morning stretch, a walk in nature, and a grounding in the garden, all of which do massively help, but it then felt massively overwhelming, and like a big long to do list so I got very honest, and whittled it down to three non negotiables.
These don’t take a big effort for me, they don’t feel like something to tick off a list, and I know that they make a huge impact on my mental, emotional, and physical health.
And I want to share them with you today, because I need to have them here as a reminder, and because I want to inspire you to think about what your non-negotiable’s are.
